Eduard holds a commerce and law degree as well as a diploma in human rights law which he obtained with first class honours. He practiced in South Africa as a barrister for 20 years before immigrating to Australia in December 2015.
In South Africa, Eduard acted in many complex commercial cases and regularly appeared in the Supreme Courts, the Appellate Division (Similar to the Australian High Court) and Lower Courts. He represented leading businessmen and major corporate clients such as prominent insurance companies and banks and advised and provided opinions on a wide range of commercial and litigation matters. He was involved in a number of landmark cases in the Appellate and Constitutional Court notably in consumer credit law, insurance law, contractual law, and insolvency and restructuring law.
Eduard has been practicing in Western Australia since January 2016. He has experience in high-level commercial litigation and has acted in a diverse range of matters since coming to Australia, including insurance law, finance law, contractual law, insolvency and restructuring law and family provision matters. He was also involved at a junior level in one of the largest insolvency and restructuring cases in the history of Australia.
Eduard worked at a boutique law firm and the State Solicitors Office before joining Douglas Cheveralls in February 2017. He was appointed a director of the firm in July 2021.
Eduard is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia.
Away from the office, Eduard is an avid tennis player and was actively involved in the facilitation of social and pennants competitions at Sorrento Tennis Club.
